Kerry-Ann Reid-Brown is known for her trail-blazing work in the Caribbean podcast community. Jamaican-born, Kerry-Ann came of age in New York—arriving here as a teenager. She is tireless in promoting the importance of having diverse voices in media, especially for immigrant communities.
She is the founder and Executive Producer of Carry On Friends The Caribbean American Podcast, an award-winning platform for Caribbean Americans, which she uses to bridge the gap between the two cultures that have shaped her and so many of her listeners. Carry On Friends has been featured in Apple Podcasts and has the distinction of being the only show that specifically targets the Caribbean American audience. It is where the unique reality of being a Caribbean American is explored and celebrated.
Her podcast production company, Breadfruit Media, which she launched in 2018, pprioritizes the development, production and management of podcasts by people of Caribbean Heritage.
When Kerry-Ann isn’t producing or recording episodes, she’s building a community with the Caribbean Podcast Directory—a growing list of podcasts created by people of Caribbean heritage whether in the region or in the diaspora.
She has been a speaker at Podcast Movement, Afros & Audio, Haiti Tech Summit, Caribbean Digital Divas, Africa Future Summit and various career, entrepreneurship, podcast and Caribbean culture panels, becoming the go-to person in the Caribbean American community for the development of the podcast medium.
