Yolande Robinson is a distinguished educator whose career spans an inspiring journey from Canada to the Turks and Caicos Islands. With a Bachelor of Education in Kindergarten and Elementary Education, a Master of Education in Educational Psychology from McGill University, and over two decades of experience, Yolande brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her work.
Raised in Canada by Caribbean parents, Yolande’s professional path began in Montreal, where she worked as a children’s librarian, youth animator, classroom teacher, and intervention specialist in inner-city communities.
In 2008, after moving to the Turks and Caicos Islands, Yolande and her husband, Jamell, founded the Learn and Lead Educational Center in Grand Turk. What started as a small initiative with the Specialized Tutoring Program and teen leadership program has grown into a beacon of educational support, benefiting hundreds of children, teenagers, and their parents across the islands.
Yolande’s commitment to pedagogy and her dedication to helping individuals reach their full potential are driven by three core outcomes: learning, skills development, and positive behavioral change. In the last ten years, this dedication has led her to focusing on creating transformative training and coaching programs for professional teams nationwide.
Throughout her career, Yolande has been passionate about positive teaching techniques. As a mother, she naturally integrated these techniques with positive parenting methods, sharing her insights with others. Many may recognize her voice from Radio Turks and Caicos, where she hosted “A Child’s Life,” a program dedicated to positive parenting and teaching techniques for nearly 13 years. Yolande’s latest venture, the Shifting Perspectives podcast, reflects her evolving interest in helping people broaden their thinking and embrace diverse approaches to life. With a reach spanning over 60 countries and 560 cities, the podcast underscores her role as a transformational speaker.
Outside of her professional life, Yolande cherishes her family, seeing them as a source of joy and inspiration. She values living intentionally and savoring everyday moments of happiness with her loved ones. Yolande’s journey is a testament to her unwavering dedication to education, personal growth, and the transformative power of positive change.
